A once a year opportunity to step back in time to the Art Nouveau period. A great day out when Alcoy relives its heyday during the industrial revolution. Many hundreds come dressed in period costume adding authenticity to the recreation of the 20th century market where there are all types of typical products on show. The nurses will be dancing, the Alcoy disability choir will be singing, the popular old techniques for dealing with consumption will be demonstrated (!) and the fire brigade will be showing off their 1900 rescue procedure. We then head to the peace and quite of a mountain side village for a delicious Menu Fin de Semana where you pre order both your first and second course!

In the Costa Blanca South, there are 3 Patron Saint Fiestas, 3 Moors and Christians Fiestas, 3 Specially Themed Fiestas and of course the Free Guided Routes in the City of Orihuela. For the Patron Saints there is; a Solemn Procession and Fireworks on Friday in Jacarilla, Flower Offering on Sunday in the El Raso Campo del Guardamar area and a Concert by the Orquesta Ciudad de Orihuela on Sunday to finish the Fiesta in Daya Vieja. The Moors and Christians Fiestas all finish this weekend with; Solemn Procession and Beach Fireworks at 01:00 on Friday in Santa Pola, a Grand Congratulations Parade on Saturday in Caudete, and War and Siege on Friday and then the Entrance of next years Captains in Villena. For the Specialist Fiestas there will be the release of Artisan Balloons in Elda, Grape Treading and Wine and Tapas in Yecla and it will be the first weekend of the 15th edition of the Street Artist Festival in Elche with all types of street performers.

 

In the Costa Blanca North, Mare de Deu de Loreto Fiesta finishes in Javea on Friday with a Solemn Procession and a Firework display.

 

In the Costa Calida it is all happening in the City of Murcia as their massive Feria continues. The programme of events is colossal with over 20 activities everyday, including the Huertos, food tents serving local cuisine, in the Jardins del Malecon, and an Artisan Market in the Paseo del Malecon as well as the Funfair with over 160 attractions at the FICA. The Moors and Christian Fiestas adds to the offerings with the Grand Parade of both the Moors and the Christians on Saturday evening.
