Another New Off the Beaten Track Coach Tour for 2024! Almond Blossom in Castilla-La Mancha
A brilliant coach tour packed with scenery and almond trees with their beautiful candyfloss like blossom as well as some great gastronomic experiences. A great alternative to the well trodden route of the Jalon Valley with its ever decreasing number of Almond Trees. Valencia produces 27 thousand tons of Almonds, whilst Castilla La Mancha produces almost three times as much at 80 thousand tons.
Join us for a new route and spend a day exploring the Castilla-La Mancha mountains and their almond fields. We meander our way through the stunning scenery of an area that is known as the Switzerland of Spain for it’s landscape. We get up close with the wizardry trees and the beautiful blossom for some great photo opportunities. Included is a wonderful visit to an Award Winning Artisan Jam Makers with a tasting of their mouthwatering products as well as a stop at an Award Winning Bodega for a tour and tasting of 3 wines. There is an optional walk beside a river, made all the more interesting as it is lined with some 60 hand made sculptures. All of this, plus three menus del dias and a BBQ on the hotel terrace with its impressive views are included.
The hotel is nestled in a valley with stunning views of the mountains. The terrace and the 10 rooms above (view supplement of 10€ per night) have a direct line of sight to the sheer cliff face. It is a comfortable family run hotel which is very clean and has friendly staff. There are two flights of 10 steps each with a hand rail to the rooms(no elevator) and all rooms have baths with showers over.

In the Costa Blanca South there will be a Medieval Market in Elche city centre with 150 stalls as part of their Medieval Fiesta. There will be Discount Shopping at the Fair in Jacarilla on Saturday, and in Algorfa there will be an Artisan Festival with stalls, demonstrations, workshops and live music. The 29th edition of the Car Fair will take place in Almoradi and in Orihuela you can book to reserve the Free Guided Miguel Hernandez Theatrical visit. There is a Tapas Route in San Fulgencio, with a free bus that runs between the 10 participating establishments. In Elche the month long Destapate Route continues, and the History Tapas Route starts in Guardamar del Segura where this year, they are commemorating the visit by King Alfonso the 13th.
In the Costa Blanca North the Moors and Christians will be having their Grand Parade on Saturday night in Jijona. There are some 50 Tapas to try during the month long 22nd edition of the Guiame Tapas Route in Denia, and 18 restaurants will be offering specially prepared Rice Menus for 25€ in Benidorm for the 9th edition of their Rice Gastronomy Week.
