Jijona Winter Moors and Christians
The Ice-Cream Makers Moors and Christians fiesta of the year will take place in Jijona (Xixona) from the 27th to the 29th October 2023. The town holds two celebrations, one in August and one in October because many people can not take time off to enjoy the festivities in August. Jijona is internationally known for its ice-cream production, which keeps lots of the local people busy during the summer!

Friday 27th October
21:00 Retreta Multicolor (fancy dress parade) followed by partying in the Kabila
Saturday 28th October
09:00 Presentation of the Music Bands, followed by a parade
12:00 Embassy of Humour by the Helador
12:30 Entrance of the Helador
18:30 Grand Entrance Parade of the Moors and Christians, followed by partying in the Kabila
Sunday 29th October
08:30 Diana, early morning parade
10;45 Parade of the Moorish Embassy from the Town Hall followed by the act of the Embassy of the Moors
11:30 Floral Offering followed by Mass
18:30 Parade of the Christian Embassy from the Town Hall followed by the act of the Embassy of the Christians
20:30 Solemn Procession followed by a firework display
