The picturesque mountain top village of Guadalest will be celebrating the Fiesta of the Virgen de la Asunción from the 14th to the 17th August 2023. The full programme for the festivities in English is in the pdf, the highlights are below:

 

Monday 14th August La Vespra
12:30 Ringing of the bells and small parade.
14:00 37th Competition 'Xinos Pepe Provincial' in the Venta Guadalest with lots of beer and tapas for the participants.
19:00 Parade of the Music band.

21:30 Transferring of the statue of the Virgen de la Asunción, the patron of Guadalest accompanied by the music band.
22:30 Wine in honour of the Virgen de la Asunción in the Plaza de la Casa de Cultura.

 

Tuesday 15th August la Festa
10:30 Ringing of the bells, firing of rockets and a parade by the music band.
12:00 Flower Offering in honour of the Virgen de la Asunción, followed by mass.
13:30 Parade of the Music band.
19:00 Folk Dancing Performance in the Plaza San Gregorio

20:00 Parade of the Music Band

22:00 BBQ with local products in the Cultural Centre

 

Wednesday 16th August
10:30 Ringing of the bells, firing of rockets and a parade by the music band.
13:30 Parade of the Music band.
19:00 Parade of the music band.

23:30 Fancy Dress Fiesta with prizes for the best costumes followed by mobile disco.

 

Thursday 17th August
10:00 Ringing of the bells, firing of rockets and a parade by the music band.
13:30 Parade by the music band.
20:00 Parade by the music band.
20:30 Solemn Procession in honour of the patron, the Virgen de la Asunción through the streets of the town accompanied by the music band.
23:00 Firework display
